Because black absorbs more heat outdoors, choose breathable fabric and take your jacket off when you can. For daytime and work, navy and charcoal are often more versatile.

Is a black suit right for a wedding?

For evening weddings and receptions, yes. For daytime or outdoor weddings, a navy, grey or lighter suit usually feels more suitable. When in doubt, check the invitation and the time of day.

Black absorbs more heat outdoors. Keep the jacket on a hanger until needed, wear a thin cotton shirt and use the waistcoat to stay smart without the jacket. Save black for evenings when possible.
